Greetings, in Jesus name!
Welcome to our new updated Web Site! We will be adding many Messages, and other items of intrest, such as, "Poems from the Heart", "audio messages" and, an easy guide to help you find the title messages you are looking for.
We will be continueing to update, as well as bring new messages of intrest, (especially concerning America and the Church!) In these troubling times we need the truth as to what is happening in our world, and, what we can do to prepare for the days ahead. We have nothing to sell, just sharing the Gospel, and, some of todays important news.
With war on every hand, and the potential of terrorism around each corner, we need a sure word from (the Bible) and, we should ask God what part we will play in this last day scenario! If any of the messages prove benefical to you, please tell someone else. You also have permission to "copy any of the messages" and sharing them with friends and loved ones.
Please don't let this be the last time you visit our Web Site. God has clearly shown me, that very soon our nation will be in great turmoil. Please ask the Holy Spirit for wisdom as you read the messages on this site. "The Southland Messenger" is dedicated to bringing the truth of God's Word, and for His glory. Believe me dear reader, God has placed an urgency in my heart, to "Cry Aloud and Spare Not", and, to "Sound the Alarm" to a sin sick, Christ rejecting Nation, that judgement is at the door. Amen! Over the years I have read many stories of great courage. After reading many of those stories, I have asked myself many times, "What would I have done in a similar circumstance"? I have "never" yet come up with an honest answer, or at least one that I could be pleased with.
After reading this article by "Gospel for Asia", I still don't have an honest answer. I have been challenged anew for a closer walk with Christ, as I know that only by His grace and strength will I ever make it. Jesus said: Without me YOU can do nothing. Thank God for the sacrifice of His Son at Calvary!
So, it is with great respect, love, affection, and thoughtfulness, I will attempt to have an answer at the end of this article. "May I ever be counted worthy to stand along side of some of God's finest Saints, and faithful soldiers of the Cross".
***Commitment***
Let me draw you the contrast of many of today's Seminarians, in comparison to many of the Missionaries on foreign fields. The Organization "Gospel for Asia", are a sending missionary group. Many of the "Gospel for Asia" native missionaries, go to seminary for three years. Waking at 6: AM. Then studying, praying or preaching, until midnight. They live on around $2.00 per day. They pray and agonize, to hear the Lord tell them "where He wants them to go". When they get a word from the Lord, GFA buys them a one way bus ticket, and sends them off with one change of clothes, and lots of tracts and materials.
In some places, the new missionary is escorted to the village by GFA elders. There they pray for the village for hours, claiming it for Christ. Then the young church planter is asked" where he would like to be buried"! In some cases, "they dig the grave in advance"! Then he goes off into that town to work without ceasing, until they ALL come to Christ-or, they kill him! No furloughs, no phone calls home, no email, no luxuries of any kind. Just perfect and complete faith in God, and gigantic piles of treasure being stored up in Heaven-exactly the kind of treasure we SHOULD be lusting after.
Many are beaten, some are killed. GFA now has nearly 15000 missionaries on the field. In just ONE province in India, in October (2000) GFA baptized 24000 souls-and stayed in town and discipled them. There are billions still un-reached with the Gospel, and thousands waiting to go to Bible college if they can get the funding help.
{Editor} I was almost stunned as I read this "MARTYRS' STATEMENT OF COMMITMENT"!
Their prayer is: "In thankfulness for God's great mercy on us, and, as our spiritual act of worship, we offer ourselves as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God.
- We commit, that we will no longer let any man made thing distract us from what God wants to do with us.
- We commit, that we will no longer settle for half-truths and childish things, and we will practice pure Truth.
- We commit- to constantly seek His face, love His Word, and to desire more of His Holy Spirit every day.
- We commit- ourselves, completely to the direction of our Savior, Jesus Christ, the Son of the Living God.
- We commit to the world -that we will strive to speak only the Truth about Jesus, and man's need for Him
- We commit to each other- our love, support, encouragement and discipline, as the Lord directs.
- We will not back down, we will not compromise, we will not stop speaking truth-regardless of the cost.

Nearly 2000 years ago, another person also made a commitment. Someone who has never failed to keep a promise (Commitment) to any of His followers. After coming to earth and doing the will of the Father who sent Him, He then died, being crucified on a Cross, on a hill called Golgotha after saying: "it is finished". (Mankind's only plan for Salvation,) He had left previous instructions, along with His promises, to His present and future followers. (Disciples.) It is up to us on how we carry them out.
**ANOTHER AMAZING COMMITMENT BY CHRIST HIMSELF**
Matt 24: 46...Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing.
47...Verily I say unto you, that he shall make him ruler over all his goods.
Matt: 28-19...Go ye therefore and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
20...Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you, and , lo I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
Jesus told his disciples: "I will never leave you nor forsake you"!
That is a long time friend-and that is an amazing "commitment". A promise forever settled in Heaven.
Dear one, recheck your spiritual life. Just how great is your commitment to Christ? Could you be able to say as these Christians: "Nothing will stop me from serving God"? I will not back up-compromise-or settle for anything but the truth"? Think about it!
Lord Jesus, give me the strength-grace-faith, and purpose, for total commitment in my life to your service. Let it be so Amen!
