Rev. Billy E. Blankenship Founder Southland Global Missions "Our Field Is The World"
Greetings, in Jesus name!
Welcome to our new updated Web Site! We will be adding many Messages, and other items of intrest, such as, "Poems from the Heart", "audio messages" and, an easy guide to help you find the title messages you are looking for.
We will be continueing to update, as well as bring new messages of intrest, (especially concerning America and the Church!) In these troubling times we need the truth as to what is happening in our world, and, what we can do to prepare for the days ahead. We have nothing to sell, just sharing the Gospel, and, some of todays important news.
With war on every hand, and the potential of terrorism around each corner, we need a sure word from (the Bible) and, we should ask God what part we will play in this last day scenario! If any of the messages prove benefical to you, please tell someone else. You also have permission to "copy any of the messages" and sharing them with friends and loved ones.
Please don't let this be the last time you visit our Web Site. God has clearly shown me, that very soon our nation will be in great turmoil. Please ask the Holy Spirit for wisdom as you read the messages on this site. "The Southland Messenger" is dedicated to bringing the truth of God's Word, and for His glory. Believe me dear reader, God has placed an urgency in my heart, to "Cry Aloud and Spare Not", and, to "Sound the Alarm" to a sin sick, Christ rejecting Nation, that judgement is at the door. Amen! BEB. |
Thought's for today
It's not what you gather, but what you scatter that tells what kind of life you have lived.
********************
We will not be remembered by our words, but by our kind deeds.
*********************
There's no place in the Bible which states: "You can receive the Lord, and be saved tomorrow".
**********************
It is the height of folly, and the most dangerous business, to know the truth and not act on it. God will hold you accountable for all
that you know, and, for all that you "could have known", if you were really interested enough to find out.
**************************
All that you do, do all in the light of eternity.
**************************
I would rather try something for God and fail, than to do nothing and succeed.
*************************
The greatness of man's power, is In the measure of his surrender.
***********************
A preachers business is to win Souls. (His only business.)
***********************
It's not success that makes a man great, but how much it takes to make him quit.

Does your testimony please the Devil?
Watchman 5/22/2010 Billy Blankenship
***********************************************************************************************
You may ask: "Are you serious"? Yes; very much so. Remember dear child of God, Satan also listens to your words and your testimony as well as God. Are you saying things that will uplift the name of Jesus, or, are you bringing praise to the work of the Devil?
You might say: "I would never do such a thing as that". You could be very mistaken! Please read the rest of this message with an open mind, and be honest with your self, I know you can be greatly benefited by doing so. Pray also, and ask God to lead you in the truth of His Word.
************************************************
Over the past few years, I have heard many testimonies and conversations among Christians, that make the Devil very proud. Remarks like: "The Devil has been on my back all day"! "From the time I get up in the morning, until dark, he is constantly harassing me-or, he is on my shoulder all day".
One lady told me: "Since I started to Church" the devil has given me trouble all the time! I said dear sister, if you are going to Church so the devil won't bother you, you are going for the wrong reason anyway. (She quit going to Church a short while after that) and that has been a number of years ago. NEVER at any time in the New Testament, did Jesus say: "If you follow me, all will be easy". Always remember, you can never run into the Devil, when you are both going the same way! Only when you change the course of your life, will you encounter his crafty tactics.
If you are looking for a group where there is no hassle from the Devil, join the Moose, the Elks, or the Kiwanis club! One of the greatest mistakes that Ministers make today is-they fail to tell the young convert of what to expect when he (she) gives their life to Christ. Most of the time the reason for that is-they don't want to take the chance that they may discourage them before they get started in the Christian life. But the young convert is at a disadvantage, because he doesn't know what to look for from the Devil in his new walk with Christ.
THEY NEED TO KNOW!
Satan goes for the young converts, realizing that they are "babes in Christ" and more vulnerable, and, not knowing what is ahead in the new Christian walk. To the young Christian, many think that every little problem-"is a trial". He/she isn't used to being confronted by evil every day, as the Devil then portrays the "world" as an exciting place to live, and the Christian life as a "dull, mundane, drudging, unhappy hard old way".
The result is: If not taught properly on what to expect in the days ahead, in every little circumstance the Christian may think, "the Devil is after me". So many Christians I know personally, think that the Christian life is supposed to be so hard, bound many times by the teachings of some legalistic Church. As long as they keep all the "rules", and meet all of the Churches requirements, they are in good standing with God. But the opposite is true! Serving God is not hard! If it is, then Jesus lied!
Jesus said: Take my yoke upon you and learn of me, for my yoke is (easy) and my burden is (light). When Oxen used a (yoke) to plow, it was used for (two) oxen. As they were yoked together, it gave them more pulling power, and made it easier for each one to do the task that was expected of them. Why would Jesus use the analogy of a yoke? Because as Jesus said: Take MY yoke.My yoke is easy-My burden is light. Jesus, the Son of God, is (yoked) with us, as we go through this life. We are NOT in this Christian race alone!
The Devil doesn't want you to know that dear one! He wants you to think-that although God may have forgiven you of your sins, you are now on your own, to -sink-swim-or drown. But the Lord's promise is still: "I will NEVER leave thee nor forsake thee. Do you really believe that child of God? If you really believe that, then you will NEVER again tell anyone how the "Devil is on your back-and how he sits on your shoulder all day".
Listen to this Christian! With all of the sinners you come in contact with during the course of a day or week, many may be thinking of asking God to change their life also. But as they listen to your testimony of "how the Devil has hounded you all day-sitting on your shoulder from the time you get up in the morning- and you are just trying to "hang on", WOULD YOU WANT TO BECOME A CHRISTIAN? Be honest! I wouldn't! The sinner is thinking, "If I have lot's of problems now, my goodness just think what is going to happen to me if I start praying"? I haven't seen any thing yet compared to those problems I see other Christians say they are having. Me a Christian? No thank you!
THE CHRISTIAN IS EITHER THE DEVILS GREATEST NIGHTMARE- OR, HIS BEST WITNESS!
That is true, and "always remember that"! If Satan can get the Christian to moan and complain, and tell of the "hard old way", of serving God-most of the Devil's work is done for him! That is the same story that the Devil tells people-"serving God is a hard old way"! The only difference is: He gets the "Christian" to spread the word of how hard it is to serve God, and, how the Devil is constantly on his trail.
I have seen Christians, that have been "going to Church" for many years, that are so defeated, you wonder how they are even surviving the Christian walk. I hear them asked at times: "How are you doing Sister? Just hanging on-is the answer. JUST HANGING ON? Answer me this question right now dear friend; "How are you just "hanging on"? tell me, what are you doing to "hang on"? Going to church? Paying your tithes? Singing in the choir? If so, that really is a joke, for there is "nothing" than you can do-"to hang on"!
The only way we can make it into the gates of Heaven, is through faith in Jesus Christ-AND WHAT HE DID at Calvary, not by our "hanging on"! I see Christians that sit around, and share "all that the Devil has done to them that day"! How are you doing today dear sister? "Kicking, but not to high"! How the Lord must be embarrassed at our remarks about the Christian life, and our serving Him. He paid an awful price for our salvation, and to hear us say: "It's a pressing way"- "I'm just trying to hold on to the end". When Satan can get the Christian to say this, his work is a lot easier. If you are making these defeated remarks each day, YES, "YOUR TESTIMONY IS PLEASING THE DEVIL"!
PUTTING THE DEVIL UNDR YOUR FEET.
What some call "putting the devil under their feet" is really another joke! I watched on a (Christian TV program) recently, while the Evangelist of the hour, had "everyone" in the audience to stand up and to stomp the floor. You are stomping the Devil he said! There in an auditorium, where surely some of these men and women should have had some kind of spiritual discernment, and been able to think for them selves, and yet, hundreds of people (obeying the man of God) as they stomped and laughed, while "supposedly" kicking the Devil.
Just what is wrong with that brother Bill? First of all, there is only ONE SATAN-ONE DEVIL-many smaller devils, (or evil spirits) but only ONE Devil. Which of the hundreds of people were stomping the Devil, since there is only ONE? Which one knew who he was stomping? With nearly 6 billion people on the earth, why was it that the Devil came that night to sit in on this particular TV service? This isn't meant to be funny friends, how Satan must have laughed, as he watched the Church of the Living God, act so foolishly on world wide television. What a testimony!
Why is it, that so many Churches all across the land try this same stunt, when they are doing nothing but obeying the preacher? thousands ca stomp, but there is still only ONE DEVIL! The only way "ONLY WAY" that you can put the Devil under your feet, is by knowing God's Word, and quoting it to him! When ever the Devil attacked (tempted) Jesus, Jesus would simply say: "IT IS WRITTEN"! You may stomp the floor like something silly, but you will cause Satan no harm. Do what Jesus did: Say "IT IS WRITTEN"! but the thing necessary, is to (know what is written!) Paul taught: Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand the wiles of the Devil. The Greek word for wiles is "methodias" meaning methods. By putting on the whole armor of God, you are able to look, or, watch for, "the methods" that the Devil uses.
Do you realize, that the Devil "doesn't know" how much trouble he is causing you, until "you open your mouth and tell someone"? While you are grumbling and complaining, then and only then, does he know that you are having some problems with his little tactics. You are not aware of his "methods"! I repeat: "If you don't tell everyone around you what a "horrible day you re having", the Devil doesn't know it"! He can not read your mind! He is able to place thoughts (in your mind) (temptations) but he cannot read your mind!
Another prize saying of "praise for the Devil" is: "well, we all have good days and bad days' today I am having a bad day"! Well bless your heart, lets all cry together! Jesus had the hatred of the Jews-the religious sects of His time-His disciples turned on Him-He was spat on-beaten-and then crucified, but NOT ONCE did He say, He was having a "bad day"! The apostle Paul, was also beaten-shipwrecked-thrown in prison-forsaken by some of his followers-but NOT ONCE do we hear him say: that he was having a "bad day"!
Every disciple was killed, with the exception of the beloved John, (who was exiled on the Isle of Patmos), but NOT ONCE do we hear him say, that he is having a "bad day"! Please read Hebrews again, when you (think) you are having a "bad day"!
Hebrews 11:36...And others had trials of cruel mockings, and scourgings, yea, moreover of bonds and imprisonment:
37...They were stoned, they were sawn asunder (sawed into), were tempted, were slain with the sword: they wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins; being destitute, afflicted, tormented;
38...(Of whom the world was not worthy:) they wandered in deserts, and in mountains, and in the dens and caves of the earth.
39...And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise. Benny Hinn, and Copeland, will tell you differently though-they just didn't have enough faith according to these two. !
Beloved, NOT ONE of these precious souls were heard telling someone of "having a bad day"! Say; what has been your greatest problem today? Would you honestly tell one of these precious saints, that we have just read about (what you have had to go through today?)
ARE YOU HAVING A BAD DAY? -WELL BLESS YOUR HEART, LISTEN TO THIS!
I am trying to get you to see, the defeated attitude of many Christians, today when always complaining of "what the Devil is doing to him"! My precious Mother in-law served God many years! She would get a good whipping each night when she came home from Church, (when her husband was kind enough to let her in the house). Many times he would lock her out of the house, with her children after leaving a Church service.
She would have to go to the neighbors house,, until her husband sobered up enough to let her return to her home. Her first Son was killed by a car while he was going to work. Her younger daughter of about 15 died suddenly. Another Son died recently at the age of about 45. She had grand children who drowned, some were burned up in a house fire-and in all of it-she was never heard complaining of: having a "bad day- it's a hard old way-or, I am just hanging on"! She went to be with her Savior a few short years ago, and left a legacy, and shining example for all of us,, of her faith and trust, and thanking God for His goodness-great provision, and faithfulness.
What is your problem friend? Is the Devil on your back? Is he on your shoulder all day? If he is, send in a pledge to some TV Ministry, and they will guarantee you he will stop! (Joke.) Dear one, grow up and mature-these things are all part of life-get used to it, things will probably get worse before they get better! Stand up! Stand tall! Remember, you are more than a conqueror- greater is He that is in you than He that is in the world-Jesus has gone on a journey to prepare a place for you-when it's finished, He is coming back. Will He find you complaining and grumbling of what "a hard old way it is", or, will you be telling others of His faithfulness-mercy-love-and the precious Holy Ghost Comforter? WHICH ONE! Will your testimony be pleasing to God, or the devil? Will you be found telling of all the problems that "the Devil" is causing you?
THINK ON THIS! THINK HARD!
Who gave you the first thought of getting right with God? That is right, God did, and you acted upon it. Who gave you the thought that you should go to the Altar and pray, (or where ever you prayed?) That is right again, God did, and you acted upon it. Who gave you the thought of telling the Church, that God had done something in your life that day? Right again, God did, and again you acted upon what that thought.
Now I ask you, who gave you the thought of "the Devil has been on your back all day"? That is right, the Devil did! Who gave you the thought, that this is going to be "a hard old way"? Right again, did you believe it? Who told you, that "you have "good days, and bad days"? Was it God? Of course not, it was the Devil. But which of the above thoughts, do you share with your friends, God's, or the Devil?
Don't you realize that God even knows when a sparrow falls from the balcony? Jesus said : Are ye not worth more than many sparrows? I will close with this thought, and I tell this for no other purpose other than the glory of God. My precious wife (Bonnie) and I have lost three children. A Daughter nearly 7- A Son 16-and a Son 38. These were not easy times, but on one occasion in particular, our Son Joel, had just been killed in an automobile accident in Central Kentucky.
Of my 3 children, this one was the hardest for me. (Why, I don't know.) But I shall never forget as long as I have my right mind, the casket at the funeral home, where my Son lay corpse. I was shattered emotionally. But to the glory of God, there came a peace over me, that I couldn't begin to explain. It was just as if Jesus had placed His arms around me, and shared with me His great love.
I seemed calm-at rest-and knew without a shadow of a doubt, that the Holy Spirit was truly doing the office of the "Comforter" that evening. I felt peaceful, although I could see my Son lying there, I knew that God loved me. He loved me enough to come at this moment in my life, and say in essence: "Bill, I do know how you feel. It will be alright-I am with you, even to the end of the world". Praise the wonderful name of Jesus.
Could I have said "I was having a bad day", knowing that the love of God was all around me? Dear one, God is no respecter of persons. Never give any praise to the Devil-he is a liar, and the father of lies. Jesus said, he was a liar from the beginning. Many times people ask me: "How is the world treating you brother Bill"? I always answer, "The world has never treated me good, but God always has"! He will treat you good to dear friend! Ponder your answers, and your words, before you say them. Others are listening, and can be greatly influenced by your testimony! Make it count for Christ.
Give no place to the devil-Resist the Devil and he will flee from you -"not rest upon your shoulder". Make God proud of His child, tell of His goodness-faithfulness-and "an ever present help in time of trouble". Do you believe that? Choose your words carefully, and let no more "testimonies for the Devil" utter from your lips. You are a child of the King-and remember, last but not least, before you listen to all of this "good days and bad days nonsense" THIS IS THE DAY THAT THE LORD HAS MADE, LET US REJOYCE AND BE GLAD IN IT. Take that Devil!
May this little message prove a blessing to you in your walk with Christ. Don't let the Devil lie to you of how "hard it is to live the Christian life". The opposite is really true. Satan's future is cinched-it is as sure as the morning sun. Your future can be also. Trust Him who never fails. God bless.
