Eyes to See-Yet See Not!

Is it possible to have eyes, and still not be able to see? Jesus said so! What did He mean? A person that cannot see is blind. It is heartbreaking to be blind. Strangely enough, many who are physically blind, can see better spiritually, that many who can see good  physically.

Heavenly Father, please use this message to instruct and encourage your people I pray. Help them to realize that this is not a message of condemnation, but rather one of a much needed teaching. May it help to "open the spiritual eyes of your people I pray" in Jesus name. Amen!

They had eyes to see, but could see not! Jesus had this very important statement to make to His disciples.

You might say Brother Bill, He is talking here of the "unsaved"! That is true, but how many Christians today hear, and see the "some of the messengers" on television, and still "cannot see or discern" what is happening? Here is a perfect example of what I am saying. Regarding the verses 5-8... Jesus said:

A sower went out to sow his seed: and as he sowed, some fell by the way side; and it was trodden down, and the fowls of the air devoured it.

Verses 6-7... tell of the different type soil, or lack of it. But False Prophets today, have so twisted the scriptures, and  teach, that Jesus is speaking of sowing your "financial seed" into a particular Ministry! To prove that false, we read the next verse, which is NEVER read by the TV Evangelists?

11...Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God.

"Part of this scripture" is used again and again by Ministers in various situations, to tell the people that they are "sowing seed" into their Ministry, (or Chirch) when they give finance, and, that their Ministry is "good soil"! Jesus was NOT speaking of sowing into a Ministry,or, a Church for that matter.   He was speaking only as He said: THE "SEED" IS THE WORD OF GOD! But thousands of God's people cannot SEE that what these Teachers are saying, is "not" what this scripture means at all! When you "witness, preach, teach, by any method, such as Tracts, Newsletters, Radio, Television, Soul winning, Visitation, (assuming that you are distributing the Word of God), THIS IS SOWING THE SEED, not giving to some Ministry!  The "seed" that many, many Preachers are telling you about today, IS NOT MONEY as they make it out to be! Jesus said: the "seed" is the Word! Period!

I am not against (any Ministry) that is publishing the Word of God, if it is done in an honest way! You do not have to use gimmicks, lies, distortions and deceptions to get finance for God's work! We should always remember that IT IS GOD'S WORD that is being published (by what ever method) not ours! It is with shame face today, as we watch the various methods used to obtain finance, and many of God's people are "unable to see" what they are doing! They have "eyes to see, but can't see"! I ran a check on the computer, of (every word that pertains to "seed" in the entire Bible) and NOT ONE ever pertained to planting money in some Ministry!  Do we have eyes to see, and still see not?

With the many false doctrines that are in the land today, we had better heed the Masters warning:

Luke 21:8.And He said, take heed that ye be not deceived: for many shall come in my name, saying I am Christ; and the time draw near: go ye not out to meet them.

I have watched over the past 41 years, as some of the most sincere Christians have followed blindly after those who promised them "health, wealth, riches, and prosperity, and "cannot see or discern" the false messages that they bring. Being sincere, (does not exempt you from being deceived!) One dear Sister called me one night and  asked: Brother Bill, what do you think of the Rev. Ewing out of California? I said the man is a liar, and a crook! She said, you shouldn't say that! Why he told me something once, that just hit me right exactly in his "news letters".  I said dear sister, that "news letter" you received, was sent out to literally thousands of people, and the only thing changed from their newsletters, was "the name"! Your name!

I personally have received letters from this Charlatan, and the junk he has come up with to get your $20.00 is a joke indeed! I watched him in Chicago once when I lived there. He came for a few nights Revival, or, so he said. This particular night he said: "God just spoke to me, and told me to give my "boots" to this young man sitting here on the front row"!   I must obey the Lord he said! So, in front of the audience he proceeds to take off his boots, and calls the young man up front and hands him his boots. I must "obey the Lord he said"! THE CROWD CHEERED, that this white man would be so humble, as to give his very boots to this young black boy. The "offering was good that night" my friend. The gimmick worked, as he played on the feelings of God's people. While hundreds and hundreds of people "watched" they STILL COULD NOT SEE what this crook was doing! Eyes to see, and see not! It is strange indeed, that you can take an outright sinner, or, anyone that is not a Christian, and you try to take their money like this Crook did, and they would not have given him a dime! But on the opposite side, I have seen God's people "fleeced" so many times that it is pathetic! At the preparing of this message, I can assure you,  that DECEPTION IS AT IT'S PEAK! If ever God's people intend to "open their eyes" as to what is happening to them "on a large scale", it had better be now!

Some years ago In Hustonville, Kentucky, A man came to hold a few days revival! (Sound familiar?) As I watched, this man stuck pretty close to the word of God in all of his preaching. As he preached on faith, he did a very good job. I stayed after the service to speak with him. I said: That message is very much needed in our area, because not much faith is preached here. I then asked him if he knew a certain Evangelist?  He said yes, I have worked with him! I knew the man I had just mentioned,  was a liar and a fraud, and I wondered why this Minister had been working with him, but I said nothing at the time.

The next night he preached, he  went very quickly into his (number 7) message routine, (the same as many of the prophets on TBN has done in the past), God's perfect number is seven he said. Tonight, I have all of these envelopes here, and you will notice that they all have a "seven" on all of them. In seven days God made the heavens and the earth, and all that God did He used the number "seven". Tonight, as you give, give at least "seven dollars", (it was a pretty small Church) if you really wish to be blessed, give "fourteen", or more! One of my friends sitting next to me said: This is a Real man of God, ain't he Brother Bill? I said, this man is a crook, but my friend wrote him out a check anyway. Again I stayed after the Church service and talked with the Evangelist, if you want to call him that. These are his exact words, and to this day I do not know why he made the statement to me: "This is the dumbest bunch of people I have ever seen" he said! "When I go into a place like this, I go on all of the local radio stations, and preach. Then as quickly as I leave the Church, I go off all of the stations".

It just so happened that I was on one of the same radio stations he had gone on, and every day I exposed this "rascal".  He said on one of his broadcasts;" there are those out there who do not believe in my Ministry"!   Really? Here were honest people, good people, people that I am sure loved the Lord, or, at least some of them, but as they watched this dude each night, they were UNABLE TO SEE what this skunk was doing! They had eyes to see, but could see not!

I say this without any apology whatsoever, if you do not know God's word, and, you will not read His word, you are a sitting duck for these last day Charlatans called "Men of God"! They can "deal from the bottom of the deck" so to speak, and you will not know what they are doing, until you have been cleaned and hung out to dry! You can (watch and listen to them) and still NOT SEE what they are up too!

Listen/read to this: One of the "faith Teachers" Norvel Hayes, while at a Kenneth Copeland meeting, tells how "God had told him"  to raise an offering, to buy Kenneth and Gloria Copeland their own home. Help the homeless?  A few days later, Kenneth and Gloria,  gave Norvel Hayes a lift to the airport in one of their (two) Mercedes cars. Norvel Hayes was being flown home in Kenneth's PRIVATE jet. They were hardly poor or homeless! The poor unsuspecting, trusting, Christians, watched each night as the Bank account gets larger and larger, and poor Kenneth and Gloria, had to use their own private Jet to take Norvel home. How sad! The people  watched, but were unable to see. Eyes to see, but see not!

Once while Pastoring a Church in Chicago, we had a dear Sister who had been converted under my Ministry. She said: Brother Bill, I want to go to a Morris Cerullo meeting, would you take me? Yes, I said. This Sister owned an apartment building, and had given very generously to our Ministry. She came to me a few days later and said: Brother Blankenshp, I pledged $3000.00 to Morris Cerullo in the meeting the other night. I asked him if it would be all right to give him $1500.00 now, and the other $1500.00 next month. Do you know what they told me? They said, you promised $3000.00 and $3000.00 is what we want, now, not next month! I said, I don't know what to tell you sister, but that is certainly anything but a Christian attitude. She was so intimidated, that she paid the $3000.00.

She thought she saw "a need, but she didn't see the greed"! Eyes to see, and see not!

The sad part of all this is, that most of these people are fine Christians! But they have been trained,  either from their own Church  Pulpit, or, on television, to  NOT JUDGE! DO GOD'S PROPHETS NO HARM! OR, "OBEY THE MAN OF GOD"! until they are afraid to say "or see" anything wrong no matter how far fetched, or wacky it may sound. ARE THESE SCOUNDRALS MEN OF GOD? They are the Devil's special agent!  Many Christians  are at the place, where they are actually afraid to "obey the word of God" for fear of offending the preacher"!  The Bible instructs us to: 1^st Thess. 5:21... PROVE ALL THINGS; HOLD FAST TO THAT WHICH IS GOOD.

Are we afraid to obey the Bible anymore? Do we have eyes to see, and still see not? It is very true, that many Christians fear offending their Pastor, more, than offending God and His word! God, they can't see, but their Pastor they can! It is absolutely "proving time" now for all Christians. To not do so, is at your own peril!

Always remember dear Christian friend, that the devil don't care how much you sing in the choir, play the piano, or beat the drums, as long as you don't take God's Word seriously! I am going to make a statement as I close, and it is of great importance. If you will not study God's Word, and read it seriously, you WILL NEVER MATURE AS A CHRISTIAN! You will be a "baby Christian" all of your life, regardless of how old you are!   You will fall for every gimmick, and every statement,  that is not taken from the Bible, because YOU don'' know the Bible, and the devil will have a field day with you! You will go from FEELING TO FEELING, as you go to Church. And, when you don't get that feeling, you won't  even know if you are saved are not! Having a good Pastor that you can trust is great! But trusting a Pastor, or anyone else with your very soul, you had better know what he is teaching from the Word of God, and, where to find it.!

Many Christians today, can not take strong messages! They can't handle the meat of God's word! They still have a "pacifier" or a bottle to nurse on! Try giving them any thing stronger, and many will pout, or even leave the Church. Paul knew about these Christians, and made mention of them in the book of Hebrews.

Dear one, if you do not know the word of God, or, at least are trying to study or learn it, you are a person that has eyes to see , but can see not!   I ask you in closing, will you study God's word? Regardless of where you go to Church, do not follow blindly in every thing that is said, with out first "proving all things; and holding fast to that which is good"? We are very concerned about your soul, and try to give you every precaution to help you preserve the truth for your self. It is only in knowing the truth that it will make you free!

Knowing God's word is paramount in the life. of a believer. To fail to heed His teachings, and even as you seek to obey "THE MAN OF GOD" as they are sometimes called today, is a very dangerous practice. I tell you a truth, there are many today who claim to be "men of God", who are the Ministers of Satan!   Beguiling unstable souls with much "hype" and little substance! Jesus said:

Beloved, do not be as those,  where the "blind follow the blind", but follow after God's word. Ask Him to help you see more clearly the things He has in store for you-the path He would have you walk, and, that you may be able to sidestep the many traps that the devil tries to lay for you.
